My perfect morning routine and the apps that support it

A good start lays the foundations for a productive and fulfilling day. Here, I’m sharing my current routine for health and mental clarity.

6:00 am: Waking up

I try to wake up consistently at 6 am. I’m a natural early riser and like the tranquility of the early hours to get some things done. To prompt a gentle and natural start to the day, I use the Wake-up Light from Philips. It starts with gentle warm light about 30 minutes before the planned wake-up time and gradually increases the intensity. Eventually, it plays chimes as a final signal. I noticed that I’m very sensitive to light. So, I usually set it later than my actual planned wake-up time. I found that I feel more refreshed than using this compared to regular sound alarms.

6:01 am: Tongue scraping 😛

I picked this up from a yoga class years ago. I use a standard metal spoon to scrape my tongue a few times. It helps to get a fresher feeling in the morning and can help to get over mild colds more quickly.

6:02 am: Yoga 🧘‍♂️

I like starting the day with a 20-minute yoga session. The first few minutes are a gentle warm-up to get the body moving. Later sections focus on stretching and strengthening particular body parts. It…
